Read MoreGrowing up, Crystal Davey spent much of her early childhood moving from home to home and school to school. Before she had even celebrated her tenth birthday, Crystal attended over 40 different schools and although she always had a thirst for knowledge, it wasn’t until she came into the care of Dilico Anishinabek Family Care that her life finally began to turn around. Through a bursary Crystal was able to complete her Bachelor of Science in nursing program where she achieved first class standing.
The Mazinaajim Children’s Foundation makes it possible for Aboriginal children and teens to pursue higher education just like Crystal. You can help by making a donation in support of youth in pursuit of their educational and career aspirations through the Foundation’s Rising Eagle Bursary Fund.
The Dream Catcher Fund
This fund is dedicated to inspiring young imaginations and making dreams come true.
The Rising Eagles Fund
This fund will support youth by providing education incentives, scholarships and bursaries to students who demonstrate merit and need financial support. Many youth travel away from home to attend Certificate Courses, College and University. This support will allow them to be self-sustaining in their journey towards educational success.
The Community Spirit Fund
This fund grants experiences that mobilize people to work together on programs and projects that are initiated and supported by the community membership. Youth can attend summer camps where Elders will teach them traditional arts, crafts and fishing or hunting skills.
The Four Directions General Fund
This unrestricted fund allows the Foundation to respond to the immediate needs of the individual, family or community. This will allow us to support children and youth to overcome everyday challenges and to enhance the quality of their lives.
